Our programs

What we can put in your hands

Our pantry receives and stores donated and purchased supplies, then prepares them for orderly distribution days. Neighbors choose from a rotating selection of shelf-stable staples, fresh items when they are available, and household essentials — no maze, no rush.

How to access it

No appointment is required. Bring a photo ID and proof of Ascension Parish residence if you have them — and come anyway if you don't. A volunteer will meet you at check-in.

What is provided

  • Shelf-stable pantry staples
  • Fresh produce and proteins when available
  • Household and personal hygiene items
  • Seasonal and holiday provisions

Diapers are one of the most requested and least donated items we carry. Our monthly distribution provides a supply of diapers and wipes, sizes subject to availability, along with a conversation with a volunteer who can connect the family to other support.

How to access it

Distributed during regular pantry days — simply ask at check-in. Sizes vary month to month, and we will always tell you honestly what is on hand.

What is provided

  • Diapers in assorted sizes
  • Baby wipes
  • Limited formula and baby care items
  • Referrals to pediatric and family services

When a fire, flood, sudden loss of income, or displacement upends a household, our team assembles a package of food, hygiene supplies, and essential household items — and then connects the family to the right longer-term resources.

How to access it

Call ahead so we can prepare your package. We aim for a same-week response whenever possible, and we will tell you what to expect when you call.

  • Hygiene and cleaning kits
  • Household basics
  • Help with referrals and applications

Volunteers deliver provisions to residents who are elderly, disabled, or recovering, and stay for a check-in conversation. Regular visits also help us notice changes in health or safety, and follow up with the people equipped to help.

How to access it

Referrals from family, neighbors, churches, and case workers are all welcome. Call us to begin a homebound intake conversation.

From our distribution days

This is what a Wednesday looks like

Boxes come off the truck, tables get set, and neighbors are greeted by name. Everything you see here was packed and handed out by people from this parish.

Vital essentials

Set aside for the moment you need them

Diapers, wipes, and emergency packages are kept ready so a family does not have to wait for a monthly cycle to turn. If something has happened and you are not sure where to start, call our office — we will tell you honestly what we can do today.
